Creating Bonds with Love,Trust,and Respect
At Confident Canines our goal is to provide the absolute best in dog training and dog daycare for you and your dog.
All of your dog daycare staff are fully trained in canine body language, canine behavior, and dog group management by the owner of Confident Canines, Bev Wells CBCC-KA
While staying with us at Confident Canines, you can be assured that your dog will not only be well taken care of, but will be plenty tired at the end of the day from playing with their friends in our fully fenced in yard space. All dogs are assessed for their suitability for attending dog daycare ensuring the safest possible environment for your pup.
Your dogs are monitored during the entire time of their visit with us by 2 or more staff members who not only ensure your dogs are playing safely, but are also loved individually!
At Confident Canines, our training philosophy is simple - Force-free and reward based.
All classes at Confident Canines are overseen and/or taught by certified trainer and behavior consultant Bev Wells CBCC-KA. Bev is an active member the the CCPDT (Certification Counsel for Pet Dog Trainers) the CAPPDT (Canadian Association of Professional Pet Dog Trainers) and The Professional Pet Guild (The Association of Force Free Professionals)
Bev has over 20 years experience working with dogs in various capacities such as K9 Security in Toronto, SPCA Animal Control Officer in Welland ON, working with Wolves at Wolf Park in Battle Ground IN, and training and teaching pet dogs in the Saint John area since 2014. Bev is also the Training Manager and Adjudicator for Companion Paws Canada, certifying therapy dog teams.
In April of 2020, Bev, in partnership with K9 Country Inn Working Service Dogs, brought much needed service dog training to New Brunswick. She specializes in Owner Trained/Trainer assisted, as well as program dogs for PTSD & Mobility.

Tara Dix - Assistant Manager/Senior Dog Handler
Pet First Aid Certified
Tara returned to us in August of 2020. She was part of our original team for 2 years, however, she moved home to Nova Scotia to pursue her field of study: forestry. After 1.5 years away and her realization that that really wasn't her passion, we were so glad to welcome her back on our team! She has had a strong interest in studying canine behavior from a young age, and delights in getting to watch your dogs each and every day. Her knowledge, care, and love for your dogs is impeccable!
Jesse Urquhart - Senior Dog Handler
Jesse is another returnee, officially becoming a part
of the Confident Canines team in October of 2020.
Jesse was with us for about a year in 2018 and left to
attend NBCC. His patience, kind spirit, and joking
demeanor make him an essential and well-loved
part of our team!
Sheila Perry-Long - Junior Dog Handler
Sheila joined our team in September of
2020. Sheila loves dogs, and has been a "dog
mom" for many years. She is full of compassion,
not just for the dogs, but for everyone around
her. Not a day goes by that she isn't consistently
offering a hand where needed, or asking
questions to help improve her work efficiency.
We are blessed to have such a loving,
selfless and helpful soul working with us!
Bayli Richard - Junior Dog Handler
Bayli joined our team in December 2020. She has
loved animals as long as she can remember, and
has had the amazing opportunity of working closely
with them since the age of 14 as a veterinary
Kennel Attendant. After withdrawing from the RVT
program at Oulton College, she moved back to Saint
John and found us here at Confident Canines! Bayli
is incredibly kind, gentle and thoughtful in everything
she does. She loves seeing your pups and does her
very best as part of our team to give them a great
day at daycare!
