Confident Canines Volunteers Needed!

Please note:
You must be at least 18 years old to be a volunteer puppy raiser. Those under the age of 18 must have a parent or legal guardian as a co-applicant on the puppy raiser application.

WHY ARE PUPPY RAISERS SO IMPORTANT TO CONFIDENT CANINES?

Puppy raisers are instructed on how to train the puppy to ensure proper etiquette when out in public and to socialize them to any stimuli in the big noisy world to ensure as they develop, they are not nervous when working in public.

DO I NEED EXPERIENCE WITH DOGS TO BE A PUPPY RAISER?

Previous experience understanding and working with dogs is required.   Puppy raisers do not need to be a trainer, but they do need to have lived with a dog previously.  Puppy raisers will learn how to raise a puppy utilizing the Confident Canines training methods by coming to classes and reading our training material.  Team members will be on hand to help and guide all puppy raisers.

WHAT ARE MY RESPONSIBILITIES AS A PUPPY RAISER FOR CONFIDENT CANINES?
​

There are several areas that you will be responsible for: Basic obedience, socialization and public etiquette training are very important to the puppy’s acceptance to advanced training.

WHAT DOES CONFIDENT CANINES PROVIDE?
  •   A puppy
  •   Lots of support to help with any problems and ongoing puppy classes
  •   Puppy In Training Vets for public access
  •   Crate
  •   First leash and collar.
  •   Vet care
  •   All food


AM I READY TO BE A PUPPY RAISER FOR  CONFIDENT CANINES?

  1. Am I patient?
  2. Am I willing to participate in public access training at least 3 times per week?
  3. Am I willing to participate in public access training with a trainer one time per week?
  4. Can I commit to participating in one obedience training class per week?
  5. Am I able to take the puppy on a daily walk for exercise?
  6. Do I have enough time in properly socialize and care for the puppy?
